The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town 'ouncil was called to
order by the Mayor, Chas. 4. baker, at 3 P.M. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson, Larry Frese and
Ronnie Doyle.
Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported 5 building permits issued in November. He
reported that to date the permits represented a sum of 4,;354,765.00
for the year of 1953.
An ordinance of Mount Lake Terrace, regarding moving og buildings
into theihr town was read and discussed. Mr. Doyle moved the Town
Council draft a similar ordinance. Seconded and carried.

Mr. Minkler report receipt of a letter from the owners of a basement
building on 57th S. S. 142nd, in which they gave permission to burn
the structure declared a hazard.
Mr. riegel, Council representative to the School Advisory Council,
reported on local school problems.
Mayor Baker stated there would be a full time Marshal in 1959. He
appointed a Law Enforcement hoard composed of Stan Minkler, president
of the Town Council, A. G. Radford, president of the Tukwila Community
Club, John Strander, Chairman of the Tukwila Planning Commission and
Harold Frye, Chairman of the Citizens' Advisory Group. It was moved
and carried these appointments be approved. Mr. Baker announced the
Board would meet each month to confer with the Marshal.
Mr. Radford reported the Street Lighting Committee had made a
thorough survey of the poles recently set by Seattle City Light and
were satisfied the best possible locations had been selected. de moved
permission be granted Seattle Light Co. set these poles. iuotion granted.
Mr. Frese reported more street lights would soon be installed.
Mr. Zepp was_asked to remove a tree in the street near the home of
Mr. Lowman on S. 149th.
Mr. Regel requested an investigation of drain water over running
the catch basin in front of 14206- 56th S. Mr. Radford was asked to
look in to this matter and bring back a report.
Mr. Baker reported he had furnished maps and ordinances and other
data to Mr. McKay. He stated Mr. McKay's reply promised a public hearing
on the Freeway_sonn_, in approximately 90 days.
It was moved and carried the Council recommend to the State Highway
Engineer that, for the protection of the property owners affected, the
access road, shown on map, be relocated to follow existing 57th Ave. S.
Mayor Baker reported on a proposed State Law regarding Planning and
Zoning which would deprive towns of power to zone. e introduced Mr.
Wilson of Kent, who is working to prevent passage of this law.
Mr. baker announced the Fire dept. Christmas party to be held on
December 21st. de also announced of possible future annexations, to
include both sides of Highway 99.
Meeting recessed at 9 :50 to meet on December 15, at 8 P.M.
