Councilmen present were Stan iqinkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson, L. R. Frese and R. K. Doyle. The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved as reed. Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid. The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. iiiinkler reported one building permit issued in December. he reported 43 permits issued in 1953, with a valuation of u362,765.00 Ordinance No. 267, relating to the moving of buildings within or into the town, was, by motion placed on its first reading. A letter from A. L. Haugan, attorney for the Independent Water Co., was read, in which he stated that an easement held by the Independent Water Co. crossing land now owned by J. L. Barnes and wife, refers to an abandoned pipeline. Mr. Barnes has asked for a release of the easement. After same discussion it was moved and carried this request be granted. The Council noted the receipt of copies of an Assignment of Easements to the Town of Tukwila. Mr. Frese reported a successful Christmas party. Mr. Baker commend- ed the Fire dept. on their parties given for children during the year. Mr. Baker called attention to the fact that Mr. Ivaylor's term of office as Justice of the Peace and Police Judge expired in January. It was moved and carried the Clerk draw up a Resolution thanking Mr. Traylor for his years of faithful service. Resolution No. 111, honoring Mr. }Pick Heinz, retiring Marshal, was upon motion, adapted. The repighaticn}= of Robt. Leahy, Deputy Police Officer, was read and upon motion, accepted. Mayor Baker appointed Mr. Carl Bergstrom as Police Judge, effective January 12, 1959. The Council by motion approved this appointment. Mr. Baker administered the oath of office to Mr. £ergstrom. Mr. Doyle presented a request for a 3 way stop at So. 146th and 57th Ave. S. It was referred to the Police Commission. The need of street signs was again brought up. Mr. rtadford, Chairman of the Street committee was asked to work with Mr. 2epp on this. Meeting recessed at 9 :45 to meet on January 19, at 3 P.M. 27
