February 16, 1959
The recessed meeting of ±ebruary 2nd of the Tukwila Town Council
was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 P.M. Council-
men present were Stan iiinkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson, R. K.
Doyle and L. R. Frese.

Mr. Baker reported the County Commissioners had appointed Mr. Lee
Phillips Justice of the peace, replacing Mr. Bergstrom who had resigned.
Mr. Baker appointed Mr. Phillips as Police Judge for Tukwila. By motion
the Council approved this appointment.
Upon motion Ordinance No. 268, an ordinance amending salary ordi-
nance No. 265 was placed on its first reading. Upon motion ordinance
No. 263 was placed on its second reading. Upon motion Ordinance No.
268 was placed on its 3rd reading and final passage.
There was some discussion of the proposed ordinance on Sub divisions.
Mr. Chas. Shults and lur. Clifford Sweeney were present and showed an
interest in such an ordinance.
Meeting recessed at 9:55 to meet on Cebruary 24 at 8 P.M.
On February 17, 1959, Mr. Stanley D. minkler, President of the
Tukwila Town Council and acting Mayor in the absence of Mayor
Chas. O. Baker, administered the oath of office to Mr. Lee
Phillips, newly appointed Police Budge, in the presence of Mr.
A. G. Radford, Councilman and Dirs. Lois T. Newton, Clerk.

The recessed meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Clerk who asked the wishes og the Council for a
chairman to act in the absence of Mayor Laker.
It was moved and carried that kr. Stanley Minkler, President of
Council be acting Mayor during ivir. I:.aker's absence.
Councilmen present, in addition to Mr. minkler were A. G. Radford,
Wynn Anderson, L. R. Frese and R. K. Doyle. John Dobson, Town
attorney was also present.
Mr. George W. McBroom, attorney for South Center, Inc., presented
petitions for tahe °of' portions of certain streets lying
south of So. 154th Street. It was moved and carried this request be
granted.
It was moved and carried Resolution D.o. 113, fixing March 19, 1959,
at 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the Town hall as the time
and place for the hearing on petition for vacation of Street portion
No. 1, v.be adopted.
It was moved and carried Resolution No. 114,
place for the hearing on petition for vacation
2, as March 19, 1959, at 8 P.M. in the Council
Hall, be adopted.
It was moved and carried Resolution No. 115,
place for the hearing on petition for vacation
3, as March 19, 1959, at 8 P.M. in the Council
Hall, be adopted.
Mr. Minkler referred to the Street Alley Committee tie relocation

Mr. McBroom presented a petition for the closure of the afore-
mentioned portion of streets during construction work. It was moved
and carried this petition for temporary closure be granted.
Mr. Doyle, Chairman of the Annexation Committee, presented a
petition for the annexation of an atea south of the present Towm
limits.

Mr. Frese moved that the Council find to its satisfaction that the
petition for annexation filed with the Council, complies with the
requirements of law and that the petition be entertained; that March
16, 1959, at 8 P.M., in the Council 'hambers of the Town Hall, be set
as the time and place for a hearing thereon; and that the Clerk be
instructed to publish a notice of the hearing in one issue of a newspaper
of general circulation in the town and also post notice in three public
places within the area proposed for annexation. Motion seconded and
carried.
Meeting adjourned at 3 :05 P.M.
