AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF
WATER CREATING THE OFFICE THEREOF PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT,
TERM OF OFFICE, COMPENSATION AND DUTIES OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINanCES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
WHEREAS, public necessity and wilfataf demand that the new—
ly completed Municipal Water System receive the supervision,
attention and management of a regularly appointed officer
of the Town of Tukwila;
NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TUKWILA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the office of Superi @tendent of Water
be and the same is hereby created.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be and he hereby is empowered
to appoint a suitable person to the office of
Superintendent of Water, said person to hold office during
the pleasure of the Mayor.
Section 3 That the compensatton of the Superintendent of Water be and the
same hereby,: is: fixed in the aum of seven hundred and twenty
dollars per year,same: ta be payable at the rate of sixty dollars each and
every month first payment to be due and payable on or about the thirthieth
dad: after appoint.sent and a payment each and ever:- month thereafter. Burin
the tern of office..
SECTION 4._ That the compensation of the Superintendent of
Water be drawn from the Current Water Fund.
SECTION 5. That the duties of the Superintendent of Water
shall be as follows: The Superintendent of
Water shall exercise general supervision over the Municipal
Water System to the end that it will give the most satisfac—
tory service possible; shall have power to make minor ex
penditures, employ laborers and buy materials for minor re—
pairs in maintaining this public improvement at the highest
efficiency; install and remove meters; read the meters at
the end of each month;: make out bills for water service;
and shall if duly appointed by the Town Treasurer receive
applications for water service and make collections for
water service, keep a consumer's ledger and remit monthly
collections to the Town Treasurer on the last day of each
month; and shall_ have auch other powers and perform such
other duties as the ordinances of the Town of Tukwila may
require.
SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, signing and
posting as provided by law.
