April 2, 1959
The recessed meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, A.G.Radford, Wynn Anderson and Lawrence Frese.
Mr. Baker reviewed the petition for annexation hearing on
which had been continued from March 26th. Mr. Baker stated that he
found the petition for annexation, as presented, not economically
feasible for the Town of Tukwila, and in order to assure the best
development of the Valley he recommended to the Council they reject
the petition for annexation.
Mr. Minkler moved the Council reject the petition, seconded
by ir. Radford and carried.
1iir. Aliment, -Fire Chief, announced the Fire Inspector had
resigned and he had been acting as inspector.
It was moved and carried the Council approve the appointment
of William Aliment as Fire Inspector.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30.

WAS, it is deemed advisable and to the best interests of the City of
Eton that certain property owned by Broadecres, Inc.,, and leaned to and oper~
stied by the Washington Jockey Club as *ong acrea Rune Track, together with other
properly in the adjoining area, be annexed to the City of Renton; and
W!PRI!RS, representatives of the city have heretofore contacted said
Hroadacrea, Inc., and have examined said Longscrea Race Track premises and the
buildings and facilities thereon; and

to the city; and
IIREREAS, said representative have assured Broadecres, Inc., that if
said Broadacres, Inc., signed a petition for annexation to the City of Renton,
no business and occupation tax, admission tax or other excise tax would there.

with the operation of said race track and, farther, that the city would do
nothing to jeopardise the operation of said race tr.ok; and

in connection with the operation of Longacres Face Track, except an annual
license fee not to exoeed 1'100.00.
