Mr. IDaker read the correspondence between the State Highway and the town regarding the sign. Mr. Frese moved we accept the recommendation of the Police Commission and allow a 60 day trial period for the Stop sign, seconded and carried. Mr. Anderson moved pies. No. 116, protesting the Stop sign, be held in abeyance during the 60 day trial period, seconded and carried. Mr. Baker appointed Mr. Doyle and Ivir. Frese a committee together with Mr. Strander, Chairman of the Tukwila Planning Commission to worki ith the City of Kent and study the allocation of Flood control funds Mr. Esker reported the Oak tree presented to the town by Mir. Strander which had been planted utn Tukwila Park, had been disturbed. ne appoint- ed Mr. &Ivirs. Wynn Anderson official guardians of the Oak. The Council by motion approved the appointment. By motion, Ord. No. 277, amending Sec. 9(1) of Ord. No. 239, the Gas ordinance, was placed on its first reading. By motion Ord. No. 277 was placed on its second reading. TTpon motion Ord. No. 277 was placed on its third reading and final passage. The Tukwila Planning Commission presented a recommendation to the Town Council that M -2 'Loning be applied to the area annexed to the town under Ord. No. 269. It was moved and carried to accept this recommendation and an ordinance be drawn up to that effect. The Tukwila Planning Commission also recommended applying a zoning of M-1, Light Industry, to the area annexed under Ord. N;o. 273. It was moved and carried to accept this recommendation and to draw up an ordinance to that effect. Specifications for the proposed grader were discussed. Mr. Baker appointed a committee to plan for a Community Center. Those appointed were Stan Minkler, President of the Town Council, John Strander, Chairman of the Planning Commission, A. G. :Rdford, eresident of Tukwila Community Club, Wm. Aliment, Fire Chief and Harold £rye, President of Tukwila Advisory Council. Meeting recessed at 10 P.M. to meet on June 3 at 0 P.M. June 3, 1959 The recessed meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker. Councilmen present were Stan A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson, R. K. Doyle and L. R. Frese. By motion Resolution No. 117, in memory of far. Carstensen, former Councilman, was adopted. A letter was read in which Ivir. BIcKay, District Engineer for the State Highway Dept. thank the town Council for their indulgence in holding our Stop sign Resolution, No. 116, in abeyance for 60 gays. Mr. Frese moved that a letter from i r. Anderson reported having contacted the man doing business in Mrs. iiartholmey's place on Interurban S. No. 273, be placed on its first reading, seconded and carried. Moved by Mr. Frese, seconded and carried that Ord.
