by the Mayor, Charles 0. Baker, at 3 P.M. `ouncilmen present were
Stan minkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson and L. R. Frese.
One bid for Street Improvement was received from Rainier Asphalt
Paving Co.,together with a certified check for 4- i;750.00. After
considering the bid it was moved by Stan Ainkler and carried that a
study of the bid be continued until Monday, August 10, at 7:30 P. M.
The minutes of the meeting of r were read and approved as
read.
Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported 4 building permits issued in July, with a total
value of W18,200, permit fees, 4;44.00.

Mr. Frese reported Nick Leinz elected new lire Chief with Robt.
Rinehart, Secretary. Mr. baker thanked the retiring officers of the
Fire dept.
Mr. vIinkler recommended that, since the trial period of 60 days
for the STOP light at the bridge had expired, the sign be removed.
'flown Marshal Earle Parker agreed that the sign was not controlling
traffic as desired as did also Lee Phillips, i'olice Judge. Mr. Frese
moved we request the State jlighway dept. remove the sign, seconded
and carried.
Mr. baker proposed the budget be revised to provide for expenditures
not foreseen at the time the budget was adtpted. mr. minkler moved an
ordinance be drawn up so revising the budget, seconded and carried.
The matter of a new flag was discussed. Mr. rhillips was asked to
purchase such a flag.
Mr. Anderson recommended a business license be issued to Mr. Blakely
for a r'ixit Rental Shop at 14025 Interurban Ave. So. Mr. iiinkier
moved the License be issued, seconded and carried.
