HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-08-27 Special Minutes - Annexation Petition Public Hearing August 10, 1959(continued) and that the petition be accepted; that August 27, 1959, at 8 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, be set as the time and place for a Hearing thereon, and that the Clerk be instructed to publish a notice of said hearing as provided by law. Motion seconded and carried. Meeting recessed at 9:40 to meet on August 27th at 8 P.M. August 27, 1959 The recessed meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by the Mayor, Charles O. baker, at 3:15 P.M. Counculmen present were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford and L. R. Frese. This being the date set for a public hearing on a petition for annexation mayor Baker read the notice of public hearing as published in the Seattle Times and asked if there were any written or oral protests to this annexation. There being none Mr. Minkler moved the petition be accepted and that the property included in the petition be annexed to the Town of Tukwila, effective midnight, September 1, 1959. Seconded and carried. Mr. Frese moved ord. No. 284, annexing the area described in the petition, be placed on its first reading, seconded and carried. Mr. Minkler moved Ord. No. 284 be placed on its second reading, seconded and carried. Mr. Minkler moved Ord. No. 284 be placed on its third reading and final passage, seconded and carried. Mayor .baker spoke briefly concerning the progress of the newly formed Valley Industrial Commission. sir. minkler moved that documents of the organization of the Valley Industrial Commission and the minutes of the monthly meetings be incorporated into the minutes of the Town Council, seconded by Mr. Frese and carried. Mr. Frese moved that Crd. No. 285, amending .ec. 1 of Crd. No. 282 be placed on its first reading, seconded and carried. Mr. Radford moved that Ord.
