Radford, Wynn Anderson, R. K. Doyle and L. R. Frese. The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved as cor rected. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. 11 arold Frye, Chairman of the Tukwila Advisory Council, informed the Council that the Advisory was planning on getting out a monthly newspaper, which is being sponsored by the Tukwila Commuriity Club. Those desiring to place items in this paper may send articles to idrs. Don Leahy. Mr. Minkler reported 6 building permits issued in August; with a total value of 015,900.00 and 39.00 in fees. Mr. Frese reported briefly on a School District meeting he attended, representing Mayor baker. Mr. Baker thanked him for this service for the town. Mr. 1Daker read a letter he had sent to the Army fts1noere regarding aid in flood control of the river. Mr. kinkier moved that the assistant to Mr. 2epp, eark, Water and Street Superintendent, be placed on a monthly salary; since it is difficult to divide each day between the different departments, seconded and carried. The Clerk was asked to amend the Salary ordinance, giving the assistant a salary of ili40J.00 per month. Mr. Radford reported on the progress of Street Improvement, one property owner refusing to pay for tile under his driveway. A recommendation was presented by the Police Dept., asking for a new police car. Mr. lvlinkler moved we call for bids for such a car, bids to be received until uctober 5, 1959, at 3 P.M., sceonded by Wynn Anderson and carried. Mr. Anderson moved we advertise for bias for rip rapping along the river, bids to be received up to 3 P.M. October 5, 1959, seconded by Ivir. Minkler and carried. Moved by ivir. Anderson and seconded by Mr. minkler that Ordinance No. 237, the budget for 1960, be placed on its first reading, motion carried. Meeting recessed at 9 :50 to meet on September 14, at 3 P.M. 97
