The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Charles O. Laker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler A. G. Radford, Wynn. Anderson, L. R. Frese and
R. K. Doyle.
One bid was received from the Brewer Motor and equipment Co.
for a police car. The bid was turned over to Mr. Parker, Town
Marshal to be examined.
The minutes of the 6 eptember meeting were read and approved as
read.
5rdinance lo. 291, revising Ordinance No. 268, the salary ordinance
for 1959, was, by motion of Mr. Doyle, placed on its first readimg,
seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. IdIr. Frese move Ord. loo. 291
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
Mr. Frese move Ord. No. 291 be placed on its third reading and final
passage, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.
The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water L ept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported 3 building permits issued in aeptemLer, valuat
valuation of 4;12,700, permit fees, 130.00.
Mr. Baker read a letter from idir. Curry, Dist. Traffic Engineer,
approving the change of Speed one on SSH 2 -M.
A letter from the Army Engineers regarding river improvement and
bank protection work stated their position that they cannot use
public money to protect private property, except in case of an
emergency.

Mr. Regel, member of the School district Advisory Council, reported
on school affairs. Mr. raker appointed Mr. Radford, Mr. Hegel and
Jerry Hamilton to represent the Town council on the School Advisory
Council.
Ordinance No. 287, the budget for 1960 was, by motion of Mr.
Radford, placed on its second reading, seconded and carried. Mr.
Doyle moved (}rd. No. 287 be placed on its third reading and final
passage, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
Ord. No. 292, extending a zoning into an annexed area, was, by
motion of Mr. Frese, placed on its first reading, seconded by Mr.
Radford and carried. Mr. Frese moved Ord. loo. 292 be placed on its
second reading, seconded by Mr. ,Anderson and carried. Mr. Frese
moved Ord. No. 292 be placed on its third reading and final passage,
seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried.
Ord. No. 293, amending Ord. No. 251, providing for variances,
was, by motion og Mr. Frese, placed on its first reading.
Mr. Radford moved Ord. No. 294, establishing a change of Speed
Zone on SSH 2 -m, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Mr.
Frese and carried. Mir. Frese move Ord. No. 294 be placed on its
second reading, seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried. Mr. Radford
moved Ord. No. 294 be placed on its third reading and final passage,
seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried.
rir. Doyle moved that Ord. No. 295, the Firearms ordinance, be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried.
