VALLEY INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION
The meeting of February 29, 1960 was called to order at 8 p.m. at the Kent City
Hall by Chairman Jack Sprenger. Members and directors were present as indicated
on the attached register.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and the date of Chairman Paul
Wieser's report was corrected to read April 25, 1960.
Chairman Sprenger reported that the meeting with the Seattle Area Industrial
Council was set for Renton on March 28, 1960 and appointed Harry Batchelder
to arrange a directors' meeting to precede the regular meeting. It is to be
a no -host dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. at The Towne House in Renton.
Jerry Shellan gave a report of the by -laws committee and his group is to
report back with a recommended set of by -laws for approval by the membership.
Chairman Sprenger appointed John L. Fournier to handle press releases for
the Commission.
The Secretary was authorized and instructed to order stationery.
Chairman Sprenger introduced Mr. Ray Charles of Stevens and Thompson, con-
sulting engineers, who gave a very interesting and informative talk on the
general drainage problems in the area, pointing out the necessity of moving
this project along on an area -wide basis and noting that up to 100% Federal
aid might be available.
Let's all try and make the next one in Renton!
Respectfully submitted,
Donald Bell, Jr.
Secretary
P.S. I would like to mention for the benefit of those who missed the
meeting that this was one of the most informative talks we have
had and remind you that if we are going to function properly and
effectively, it will be necessary that all members and directors
take part in these meetings.
