The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Charles O. Baker, at 3 P.Q.I. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson, R. K. Doyle and
Stan Smith. Mayor Baker asked Bill Aliment, Jerry Hamilton and Gene
Ives, candidates for Councilmen, to sit with the Council st the
Council table.
Mayor Baker announced the death of Victor North, a former Council
man,sii'ice Council last met, and asked for a moment of silence in
tribute to Mr. North.
Mr. Minkler moved the adoption of Resolution No. 125, a resolution
expressing the sympathy of the Council to the family of Mr. North and
their appreciation for the service he had rendered the town, seconded
by Mr. Radford and carried.
Mayor Baker noted that March 8th was election day and commended
those who had consented to run for Council positions.
The minutes of the February meeting were read and approved as
corrected.
Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported two building permits issued in February.
He also reported new street signs throughout town.
Mr. Zepp presented a request from Water District No. 38 to
improve their system lying within the Town limits of Tukwila.
They promised to furnish bond to protect the town while this
improvement is taking place. Mr. Minkler moved the Council grant
this request and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign the permit,
seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
Bill Aliment suggested the town look into the offer by a private
firm to provide Rodent control. Mayor Baker named Wynn Anderson and /G??
Ivir. Radford together with a committee of two from the Fire Dept. to
study such an offer.
Mr. Doyle moved Ord. No. 302, revising the Gas Ordinance No. 239,
be placed on its first reading, seconaed by Mr. Anderson and carried.
Mr. Doyle moved Ord. 302 be placed on its second reading, seconded by
Mr. Radford and carried. Mr. Radford moved Ord. No. 302 be placed on
its third reading and final passage, seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried
Mr. Richard Bowen, Chairman of the Annexation committee, presented
a petition for annexation of an area lying west of 53rd Ave. So. and
south of S. 154th. He stated the petition was signed by owners of more
than 75% in value of the area seeking annexation.
Mr. Doyle moved the Council find to its satisfaction that the
petition for annexation, filed with the Council, complies with the
requirements of law and that the petition be accepted, that Wednesday,
March 30, 1960, at 8 :00 p.m. be set for a Public Hearing thereon and
that such notice be published and posted as required by law, seconded
by Mr. Minkler and carried.
