HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-03-14 Special MinutesMarch 14 1960 A Special meeting of the Town Council was called to order by the Mayor, Charles 0. baker, at 3 :00 p.m. The Council met jointly with the Tukwila Planning Commission to study the Metro Plan to dump effluent from their Sewage Disposal Plant in the Duwamish river at black River Junction. The Advisory Council and the Community Club were also represented at this meeting. Mr. Don Johnson, Honorary Past President of the Washington State Sportsman Council made a very complete report on the effect such dumping would have on the fish life in the rivers. Mayor Baker commented on the effect such action would have on the residential and industrial areas in Tukwila. Mr. belly moved a Resolution, No. 126, opposing dumping effluent into the Duwamish river at Black River Junction, be adopted, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. This motion carried the provision that this Resolution should be presented by Mayor Charles G. Baker at the Hearing on this Plan on Wednesday, March 16th.
