HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-03-21 Adjourned Minutes March 21, 1960 The recessed meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by the Mayor, Charles 0. baker, at L3 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan iviinkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn Anderson amd R. K. Doyle. E. W. Ives and Jerry Hamilton, Councilmen elect, were also present. Mayor Baker reported presenting resolution No. 126, protesting the dumping of effluent into the Duwamish river, to the hearing on this proposal of Metro. He also read a copy of a letter he had sent to Mr. heid Hale, Editor of the Highline Times. In this letter Mayor baker explained Tukwila's position on the above Paln of Metro. 143 i Mr. Minkler moved this letter be made a part of the minutes, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. A letter from the City Clerk of Kirkland was read in which he suggested the Association of Valley Cities be reactivated. The Council agreed. ivir. iviinkler moved Tukwila Council approve the Assoc. of Valley Cities be reactivated, seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried. A letter from the Tukwila Planning Commission recommended to the Council that the NO PASSING zones on Interurban S. for northbound traffic be extended northerly from its present terminus, in front of Nick's Auto Wrecking, to a point just north of the intersection of Interurban S. and S. 133rd, and that the cross walk at the intersection of Interurban S. and 52nd S. be moved to the north side of 52nd S, and a sign be placed there. Mr. Minkler moved this recommendation be approved and the State Highway Dept. so advised, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. .Meeting recessed at 9 :50 to meet on March 30 at 8 P.i\1.
