There was some discussion regarding the proposed Freeway route.
Mr. Minkler moved the Mayor be empowered to speak for the Council
in future negotiations with the Highway Department, seconded by Mr.
Radford and carried.
By motion meeting was adjourned at 10 PM.

A Special meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Charles 0. Baker, at 8 :00 P.M. Councilmen
present were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, R.K.Doyle, E. W. Ives
and Jerry Hamilton. In the absence of the Clerk Mr. Hamilton
acted as Clerk protem.
Mr. Richard Bowen, Chairman of the Annexation Committee,
presented a petition for annexation of an area south of present
town limits. He stated the petition was signed by owners of more
than 75% in value of the area seeking annexation.
Mr. Doyle moved the Council find to its satisfaction that the
petition for annexation, filed with the Council, complies with the
requirements of law and that the petition be accepted, that Tues-
day, July 5th, 1960, at 8 :00 P.M. be set for a Public Hearing
thereon and that such notice be published and posted as required by
law, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried.
Mayor Baker presented a recommendation from the Tukwila Planning
Commission that an area lying immediately northerly and adjacent
to Macadam Road and southerly and adjacent to South 152nd Street and
presently zoned R -2 be rezoned to R -M -H. Mr. Minkler moved we
accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission and that
Tuesday, July 5, 1960, at 8 :30 P.M. be set for a Public Hearing
thereon and that such notice be published as required by law,
seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried.
Mayor Baker presented a recommendation from the Planning Commission
that a portion of Tract 35 of brookvale Garden Tracts and an adjoin-
ing unplatted strip of land, be reaongd to R -M -H. Mt. Minkler
moved to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission and
set Tuesday, July 5, 1960, at 8 :45 P.M. for a Public Hearing thereon
and publish notices as required by law, seconded by Mr. Doyle and
carried.
