Baker, at 8:00 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, E. W. Ives and 'erry Hamilton. The minutes of the July meetings were read and approved as read. Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid. Total valuation for July 416,500; total valuation for the year 494,200. 179 August 1, 1960(continued) Nick Heinz, Fire Chief, announced the following firemen elected officers for the coming year. Nick Heinz, Chief Don Leahy, Assistant Chief 1 rt Stevens, 8aptain Bob Leahy, Captain D. D. Traynor, Lieutenant Bill Aliment, Lieutenant Bob Rinehart, Secretary Frank Zepp, Assistant Secretary. Jerry Hamilton reported on a meeting held in Kent, earlier this 19 evening, to discuss valley drainage problems. He reported there was a great deal of interest. Mr. Radford reported on the On Site inppection of the area being excavayed for the City Light Company. Mr. Burzenski, Project Engineer sated the town street will be replaced if disturbed. He pointed out that Morrison Knudson Co. are bonded and everyone concerned is protected. A letter from Mr. Don Garen protesting the cuts and slopes j( and urging the town stop work on the project was noted. In reference to this letter lair. lvlinkler felt that the cuts that are being made are as safe as cah he expected ;he also observed that since Mr. Garen's property is west of 54th Ave. he is protected as long as the street remains intact. The town is fully covered and protected by a bond, covering any accident or sliding. The Council felt Mr. Garen's requests are not valid enough to stop work on the project. Mr. Hamilton felt the John Graham Co. is a reputable and reliable Company and we should trust theih judgement in this matter. Mr. Radford reported on street needs. Mr. Minkler moved the town c7 call for bids on Street Improvements, bids to be accepted up to /J 8 :00 p.m. August 22, 1960, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried. The Council accepted a recommendation from the Planning Commission that properties associated together and lying within the area cir- cimscribed by Renton- Three -Tree Point Road on the north; 57th Avenue So. on the Last; So. 162nd St. on the mouth and 53rd Ave. So. on the West, but not filling the aforementioned circumscribed area, is suitable for the development of those uses allowed and described in zone C -2. Mr. Minkler moved a public hearing be set to consider this zoning for 8 :00 P.M., September 12, 1960. Jeconded by gr. namilton and carried. Meeting recessed at 9 :55 to meet on August 22, at 8 :00 p.m.
