The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town council was called to
order by the Mayor, Charles 0. Laker, at 8 p.m. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, E. W. Ives, R. K. Doyle and Jerry
Hamilton.
The minutes of the August meetinga were read and approved as read.
Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. uinkler reported 7 building permits issued in August.

Mr. Minkler reported Mr. Cunningham, police officer, had presented
his resignation and it had been accepted by Mr. Parker, Town Marshal.
Mr. t'arker introduced Mr.Anton Swanson and Mr. Minkler, as
chairman of the Police Commission, recommended Mr. Swanson be hired
to take the position vacated by the resignation of Mr. Cunningham.
Mr. Minkler also repotted Mr. marsha 1 of was meeting with the
Police Fire depts Mayor Baker announced he had appointed Mr. Frank Sousa to the
Tukwila Planning Commission, his term of office to expire on Jan. 2,
1964. Mr. Minkler moved the Council approve this appointment, seconded
by Mr. Radford and carried.
Mr. Ives moved Ordinance 309, amending Ordinance 306, be placed on its
first reading, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. Mr. Doyle moved.!'
Ordinance. 309 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Mr.
Hamilton and carried. Mr. Doyle moved Ordinance 309 be placed on its
third reading and final passage, seconded by Mr. Hamilton and carried.
Mayor Faker reported he had received a signed map of the proposed ,,/C
Interstate freeway routes through Tukwila. The Highway Department JG
have set a hearing on thses routes for October 7, 1960, the place of
Hearing to be announced later.
Meeting recessed to meet on September 12, 1960 at 7 :00 p.m.
Mayor Baker declabed a short recess at 7:45.
