The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the iviayor, Charles 0. Laker, at 8 Y.M. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, E. W. Ives, R. K. Doyle and Jerry
Hamilton.
Minutes of the September meetings were read and approved as read.
Also read was a memorandum of the meeting of September 28, 1960,
submitted by Mr. grrald Cysewski at the request of Mayor faker. Mr.
Radford moved this memorandum be made a part of the Town minutes,
seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Water wept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported 4 building permits issued in Sept.
Mr. Drew reported on Public Schools. he stated the next major
building program will be a school in Tukwila.
Mr. hamilton reported on condition of the new location of Pop's
Fixit shop. He stated he had advised Mr. Blakely in September he
would not be allowed to operate at that address, on the Peltier
property L_until changes were made in the building. No real improverq.ent
has been made as yet and Mr. Hamilton recommended his Business license be
revoked.
Mr. heinz, Fire Chief, presented a letter in which he stated he
had inspected the building at Interurban South & South 148th Street occupied by
Popes Fixit Shop and had found it unsafe for public business.
Mr. Baker asked Mr. Minkler and members of the Building Committee
to investigate and bring in a report.
Mr. Doyle reported he had investigated needs of river control and
ascertained two areas in need of repair. He stated the Lept of
Conservation admit we have several areas that should be repaired. He
proposed the Council map out a program for river improvement. Mr.
Doyle moved the Council draw up specifications and advertise for bids
for flood control work, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.
Mr.Hamilton moved Ordinance 310 the budget for 1961, be placed on
tts second reading, seconded by Mr. Doyle ana carried. Mr. Hamilton
moved Ordinance 310 be placed on its third reading and final passage,
seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried.
As provided by action taken by the Council on September 28, 1960,
Ordinance 311, vacation a certain pottion of South 162nd Street and
of 56th Avenue South was presented. Mr. Doyle moved Ordinance 311 be I
placed on its first reading, seconded by Mr. Hamilton and carried.
Mr. Doyle moved Ord. No. 311 be placed on its second reading, seconded
by Mr. jamilton and carried. Mr. Doyle moved Ord. No. 311 be placed
on its third reading and final passage, seconded by Mr. Hamilton and
carried.
Mayor baker announced the Hearing on the proposed r'reeways to be
held in the roster Highschool gymnasium on October f7 at 3 p.m.
Meeting recessed at 9 :40 to meet October 17 Or 3 p.m.
