Resolution No. 1346 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, REJECTING THE BID SUBMITTED
BY ATKINSON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON FOR THE 51ST AVENUE SOUTH BRIDGE
REPLACEMENT PROJECT; AND AWARDING THE BID TO
KIEWIT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,785,364.
WHEREAS, sealed bids were solicited for the 51st Avenue South Bridge Replacement
project; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened and read aloud by the City Clerk on March 5,1996; and
WHEREAS, the Atkinson Construction Company bid did not include the required
proposal sheet issued under addendum number one; and
WHEREAS, bids submitted on the improper forms are considered irregular and must be
rejected per Section 1 -02.13 of the 1994 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal
Construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Atkinson Construction Company bid for the 51st Avenue South Bridge
Replacement project is hereby rejected as non responsive due to the bid irregularities.
Section 2. Kiewit Construction Company is determined to be the lowest bidder on the
51st Avenue Bridge Replacement Project and is hereby awarded the Contract for construction in
the amount of $1,785,364.
PASSED BY THE CITY, COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this 1'3� day of A& 1996.
