Resolution No. 1352 A RESOLUTION OF THE 'CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE
FOR A WASHINGTON WILDLIFE RECREATION PROGRAM OUTDOOR
RECREATION PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR
RECREATION (IAC) AS PROVIDED IN REVISED CODE OF WASHINGTON
CHAPTER 46.09 /WWRP- OUTDOOR RECREATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has approved a Six -Year Park and Open Space Plan for the area
that includes Cascade View neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Washington Wildlife Recreation Program Outdoor
Recreation, state and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in
financing the cost of land and facilities for local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila considers it in the best public interest to acquire park land in the
Cascade View neighborhood;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor shall be authorized to make formal application to IAC for funding
assistance.
Section 2. Any fund assistance so received shall be used for the acquisition of land for the future
Cascade View Park.
Section 3. The City of Tukwila's share of project funding will be derived from the 301 Fund.
Section 4. Any property acquired with IAC financial aid will be placed in use as an outdoor
recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and agreed to
by the City of Tukwila, IAC, and any affected federal agency.
Section 5. This resolution shall become part of a formal application to IAC.
Section 6. Adequate notification has been given and the opportunity provided for public
comment.
