Resolution No. 1357
A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, IN APPRECIATION
OF VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY.
WHEREAS, volunteerism has always been an integral part of American life; and
WHEREAS, volunteers put their civic convictions into action, serving their communities
without benefit of financial reward; and
WHEREAS, volunteers are involved in nearly every area of our community, from the planning
of arts, recreation, and human services programs, to giving advice on zoning, urban growth, and
community policing issues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila is fortunate to have in excess of 200 volunteers working with
virtually every City department; and
WHEREAS, the quality of life in our community is greatly enhanced by the contributions of
those volunteers;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
that volunteers are the "heart" of Tukwila, and urge all citizens to join in expressing our thanks
to those who give so unselfishly of their time and energy.
PASSED BY THE CITY CQVNCIL OF TI CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this f day of �i�G S 1996.
