HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1359 - Support 1996 King County Recreation and Conservation Initiative 1LA, �J q Y 0 J 1 -•I r ;O t 1F 1906 C Washington Resolution No. 1359 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE 1996 KING COUNTY RECREATION AND CONSERVATION INITIATIVE. WHEREAS, the City has a keen interest in upgrading and maintaining its parks and play fields for the recreational needs and overall benefit of its citizens, and WHEREAS, the City has established over the years a partnership with other municipal governments, including King County and others, for the purpose of enhancing the recreational opportunities for its citizens, and WHEREAS, in cooperation with the above -named municipal governments, the City has identified five of its parks and play fields, including Cascade View Park, Showalter Play Field Lights, Old Community Center Park, Tukwila Elementary Park and Log House River Front Park, as being in need of development and improvements for the benefit of its citizens, and WHEREAS, the King County Council has passed ordinances to bring to voters of King County a bond issue for, among other things, the improvement of the parks and fields noted above, and a levy to assist in the maintenance of these properties, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: The Council endorses the placement on the September 17,1996 ballot of King County Ordinances No. 12392 (30 year bond issue) and No. 12393 (one year maintenance levy), both dated July 22, 1996.
