HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1360 - Bid Award - Baltic Design for Minkler Shops Improvements 1LA, �J .:................q� 11K 1908 City o u it a Washington Resolution No. 1360 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON AWARDING THE BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MINKLER SHOPS IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER. WHEREAS, the City did solicit competitive bids for the construction of the Minkler Shops Improvements Project; and WHEREAS, such bids were opened by the City Clerk's Office and read aloud on August 19,1996; and WHEREAS, bids were received from Lakeville Homes; Baltic Design; Ferrell Penning, Inc.; F.T. Enterprises; CD Construction; and MDM, Inc.; and WHEREAS, each bid was reviewed for conformance to the formal bid specifications issued at the time bids were solicited; and WHEREAS, the lowest apparent bidder, Lakeville Homes, did not include the sales tax and asked to withdraw bids citing errors in tabulation; and, WHEREAS, the second lowest bidder did comply with the specifications as stipulated when bids were solicited, thus providing a responsible bid for the purposes of competitive bidding as required in RCW 35.23.352; NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The apparent low bid of $37,628.00 by Lakeville Homes is not accepted due to errors in tabulation. Section 2. The bid for the construction of the Minkler Shops Improvement Project is hereby awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Baltic Design, in the amount of $42,207.00 (bid includes sales tax).
