A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE STATE
SENATE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE'S PROPOSED
REVENUE PACKAGE AS A METHOD OF FUNDING
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has very large transportation capital
improvement needs which will be difficult to fund without additional outside revenue
resources; and
WHEREAS, Tukwila has for many years depended on state Transportation
Improvement Board (TIB), Transportation Improvement Administration (TIA) and City
Hardship Administration Program (CHAP) grant funding, and those funds are needed
more urgently by the state and more cities than ever; and
WHEREAS, because the current Senate proposal includes not only state
revenues but also funds for cities, it can do the most good for the most citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
We support the Senate's preliminary plan for transportation revenues as reported
out of the Senate Transportation Committee.
