A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE TUKWILA
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 406 AND THE HIGHLINE SCHOOL
DISTRICT 401 SCHOOL PROGRAM LEVY ELECTIONS
AND URGING ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS TO VOTE FOR
SCHOOLS IN THE FEBRUARY 3, 1998 SPECIAL ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the Tukwila School District and the Highline School District will be asking all
residents to support the 1999 -2000 school levy votes on February 3, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the School District levy measures are not new taxes, but replacement of the two
year general fund levies approved in 1996; and
WHEREAS, school levy funds represent at least 20% of the Districts' operating budgets each
year; and
WHEREAS, having strong public schools is important to the health and vitality of the Tukwila
community; and
WHEREAS, the schools need broad public support to meet the diverse needs of today's
families and to help each student achieve his or her potential;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Tukwila supports the Tukwila and Highline School District school program levy
elections to be held on February 3, 1998, and urges all eligible voters to vote for schools in the
special election.
PASSED BY THE CITY NCIL OF CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this day of 1993.
