A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE
NAME OF S. 154TH TO SOUTHCENTER BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, before Interstate 5 was built, the road between Highway 99 and
Interurban was considered one street; and
WHEREAS, with the construction of I -5 and the Southcenter developments, the
portion of the street east of I -5 was renamed Southcenter Boulevard, while the west side
of I -5 was named S. 154th; and
WHEREAS, with annexations the road was within Tukwila's boundaries from
Highway 99 to Interurban; and
WHEREAS, the 1995 Tukwila Comprehensive Plan recommends redesignating
S. 154th's name to Southcenter Boulevard for improving landmarks and city identity;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The portion of S. 154th -from 51st Avenue South on the east to Tukwila
International Boulevard on the west shall be renamed "Southcenter Boulevard."
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a Regular Meeting thereof this 0 day of ,1999.
