A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ENCOURAGING
FIVE TUKWILA POLICE OFFICERS IN THE WORLD
POLICE AND FIRE GAMES COMPETITION.
WHEREAS, five Tukwila police officers will compete in the World Police and Fire
Games, and will pay their own way and use their own time to compete this year in
Stockholm, Sweden; and
WHEREAS, the World Police and Fire Games, held every two years, are open to all
countries' police and fire competitors; and
WHEREAS, to compete in the Games requires a great deal of strength, athletic ability,
fundraising events, and dedication in training; and
WHEREAS, the World Police and Fire Games have a reputation of being the second
biggest sporting event in the world, and the Tukwila officers will enter the Toughest Team
Competitor Alive competition; and
WHEREAS, with the team leading by example, others in the Police Department have
also begun to work out and train to improve their own physical strength and stamina;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Rodney Smith, David Wingo, David Crommes, Mark Renninger and Jim Syler are to
be encouraged and congratulated for their participation in the World Police and Fire
Games, and the Mayor and City Council wish them all the best of luck in the competition.
