A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE TUKWILA
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 406 AND THE HIGHLINE
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 401 SCHOOL PROGRAM LEVY
ELECTIONS AND URGING ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS TO
VOTE FOR SCHOOLS IN THE FEBRUARY 29 AND
MARCH 14, 2000 SPECIAL ELECTIONS.
WHEREAS, the Tukwila School District will be asking all residents to support the
2001 -2002 school levy proposition on February 29, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Highline School District will be asking all residents to support the
2001 -2003 school levy proposition on March 14, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the School District levy measures are not new taxes, but replacement
of the existing general fund levies approved in 1998; and
WHEREAS, having strong public schools is important to the health and vitality of
the Tukwila community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Tukwila supports the Tukwila and Highline School District school
program levy elections to be held on February 29 and March 14, 2000, and urges all
eligible voters to vote for schools in the special elections.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCILAF THE CIpl OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a Regular Meeting thereof this o day 2000.
