A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING
THE TUKWILA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 406 SCHOOL
PROGRAM LEVY ELECTION AND URGING ALL
ELIGIBLE VOTERS TO VOTE FOR SCHOOLS IN THE
APRIL 25, 2000 SPECIAL ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the February 29th Tukwila School District levy election failed to pass
by a small margin; and
WHEREAS, the Tukwila School District will be asking all residents to support the
2001 -2002 school levy proposition on April 25, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the School District levy measures are not new taxes, but replacement
of the existing general fund levies approved in 1998; and
WHEREAS, having strong public schools is important to the health and vitality of
the Tukwila community;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Tukwila supports the Tukwila School District school program levy
election to be held April 25, 2000, and urges all eligible voters to vote for schools in the
special election.
