A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HONORING AL FRANK
UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM TUKWILA.
WHEREAS, Al Frank came to work in Tukwila in March 1991 as the City's
Recreation Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Al's work at the Community Center has helped make many of its
programs and its staff members successful; and
WHEREAS, Al developed and created the character "Awesome Possum" to
educate children on safety in Tukwila parks, and has made that character a recognized
and well -loved creature; and
WHEREAS, Al was largely responsible for "Tukwila Days" running so smoothly
and so well, as he orchestrated reservations, assigned and set up tables, coordinated
schedules, and handled last- minute details; and
WHEREAS, Al was responsible for resolving many of the operational and
functional needs of the new community center when it was first opened, and has served
as a staff resource on its functioning since that time; and
WHEREAS, Al has served as a long- standing member on the City's Wellness
Committee, helping that committee fulfill its mission of promoting wellness;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That we honor Al Frank, thank him for his nine years of dedicated service to the
Tukwila community, and wish him well in his new position.
