AN ORDINANCE VACATING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF EDWARDS AVENUE AND
RIVER STREET IF ITS ENTIRETY AND ESTABLISHING RICE AVENUE IN THE
TOWN OF TUKWILA WASHINGTON
WHEREAS, On March 9, 1922, a petition was filed with the
Council of the Town of Tukwila for the vacation of certain portions
of Edwards Avenue in the Town of Tukwila; and,
WHEREAS, On December 14th, 1922, a petition was filed with
said Council for thevacation of River Street in its entirety in
the Town of Tukwila; and,
WHEREAS, Pursuant to action of said Council, due notice of
hearings on said petition was published as required by law; and,
WHEREAS, Hearing on said petitions was 'geld on May loth,
1923, and no objection was made to the vacation
described thoroughfares as prayed for in the petitions abor.c recitdd,
and,
WHEREAS, There has been filed with said Town Council quit- claim
deeds to the South Twenty (20) Feet of Lots Five (5) to Eighteen
(18), inclusive, Block Nine (9), of the Town of Tukwila by the
respective property owners thereof for the purpose of establishing
a thoroughfare.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE e'AU COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TUKWILA
Section 1, That Edwards Avenue in the To of Tuk from
its intersection with Maule Avenue to the East line of Lot Eighteen
(18), Block Nine (9), shall be, and the same hereby is, vacated.
Section 2. That River Street in the Town of Tuk' Tila, for its
entire length, shall Ise, and the same hereby is, vacated.
Section 3. That the South Twenty (20) Feet of Lots Five (5)
to Eighteen (18), inclusive, Block Nine (9), in the Town of Tukwila,
shall be, and the same hereby are, declared vacated for the use of
the public as a thoroughfare.
Section 4. That the thoroughfare described in Section Three
(3) hereof is hereby declared to be and shall hereafter be known
under the name of "Rive Avenue
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective Five (5)
Days from and after its passage and publication.
