RESOLUTION NO. 783
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA TO DESIGNATE SOUTHCENTER
BOULEVARD, APPROXIMATELY FROM I -5 TO INTERURBAN AVENUE,
FOR ADDITION INTO THE FORWARD THRUST ARTERIAL PROJECT AND
ASSIGN TUKWILA'S REMAINING FORWARD THRUST FUNDS FOR STREET
IMPROVEMENTS, MODIFICATIONS, AND UNDERGROUNDING TOWARD
THIS PROJECT.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA
WHEREAS, The City has completed all of the projects authorized under
King County Forward Thrust Arterial Projects in Tukwila, with the exception of
South 152nd Street, which will be completed in 1981 and funded under Local
Improvement District #30 and
WHEREAS, there is remaining an approximate cash balance of $25,000
in the City Street Unlimited G.O. 1971 fund, which funds came primarily from
King County Forward Thrust Arterial Project funds and
WHEREAS, there is a remaining fund balance of $5,615 in Tukwila's
allocation of $36,615 under Section FF of King County Resolution No. 34569 for
the purpose of improving traffic control signals and street lighting served
by underground wiring and
WHEREAS, the City has identified Southcenter Boulevard improvement
project as a priority project in the 1980 Six -Year Transportation Improvement
Plan and
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has authorized funds of
$70,000 for preliminary engineering for the Southcenter Boulevard Project and
WHEREAS, the Southcenter Boulevard is to tie into the west end of
the proposed new Grady Way Bridge which is presently undergoing final design as
a joint project with Renton in which Renton is taking the lead agency role.
1. That unused King County Forward Thrust Arterial Project funds
are designated for use in street improvement projects for Southcenter Boulevard,
after receiving approval from King County.
2. The City's administration is authorized and directed to apply
to King County for transfer of the remaining funds in Tukwila's allocation under
Section FF of King County Resolution No. 34569 for use in completing improvements
in the Southcenter Boulevard Improvement Project.
