RESOLUTION NO. 825
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
CONVEYING GREETINGS TO THE CITIZENS OF OUR SISTER
CITY, IKAWA CHO, JAPAN.
WHEREAS, the cities of Ikawa and Tukwila have affiliated as
Sister Cities with the common goal of international understanding, and
WHEREAS, each year since formal affiliation, our community has
benefited by the exchange of friendship and culture with a visit from
the citizens of Ikawa, and
WHEREAS, citizens of Tukwila journeyed last year to Ikawa to
learn about our Sister City and its people, education, culture, government
and business, and
WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Tukwila are again traveling
to Ikawa to renew the ties of mutual goodwill and respect between the
people of our two cities and our two nations.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The Mayor and the Tukwila City Council hereby officially
extend greetings to the officials and citizens of Ikawa and
also extend a sincere invitation to the students and other
citizens to visit Tukwila again at the earliest convenience.
The Mayor and the City Council also hereby officially intro-
duce the members of the second delegation of citizens from
Tukwila to the hospitality of Ikawa.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a regular meeting thereof this 22nd day of June 1982.
