RESOLUTION NO. 832
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY FOR REPLACEMENT OF
THE 56TH AVENUE BRIDGE.
WHEREAS, on May 8, 1980, the Foster Point Bridge across the
Duwamish River failed and rendered the Foster Point neighborhood inac-
cessible, and
WHEREAS, the replacement of said bridge is deemed necessary for
the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of Foster Point, and
WHEREAS, the State of Washington, Department of Transportation
has notified the County that funding is available from the Federal Bridge
Replacement Fund for 80% of the currently estimated replacement cost of
$1.5 million, and
WHEREAS, King County and the City agree to share, on an equal
basis, the cost of the 20% local matching funds.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Interlocal
Agreement between the City of Tukwila and the County of
King for design and construction of the Foster Point
Bridge (56th Avenue Bridge) across the Duwamish River.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a regular meeting thereof this 2nd day of August 1982
