HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0840 - Tree Lighting Ceremony TUK WILA WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: ATTEST: Approved as to Form Deputy City Attorney, Daniel Woo WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 840 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, RECOGNIZING THIS CITY OF TUKWILA TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY. WHEREAS, the United States of America recognizes the need for a country -wide ceremony which is signified by the lighting of the Christmas Tree on the Whitehouse Lawn, and WHEREAS, the government vests responsibility for the tree lighting in the President and his family, and WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila recognizes a need to extend this ceremony to the municipal level. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, That the Chief of Police and the Tukwila Police Department, in conjunction with the Tukwila Police Officers' Wives' Association will sponsor this Tukwila Tree Lighting Ceremony. That all citizens and business people are cordially invited to participate in the singing of Christmas Carols, partaking in refreshments and the greatest aspect establishing the ceremony as an annual event. That on Sunday, December 12, 1982, at 3:30 p.m., all those in the Christmas spirit join the sponsors in this merry event on the City Hall Lawn near the lunchroom. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this 6th day of December 1982.
