WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 855
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
PROPOSING ABANDONMENT OF ITS CURRENT PLAN OF
GOVERNMENT, AND ADOPTION OF THE COUNCIL MANAGER
FORM OF GOVERNMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila, Washington, currently
operates under the Mayor- Council form of government with pro-
visions for a full time Administrative Assistant; and
WHEREAS, state law allows a non charter code city to
change its form of government, by following certain procedures
set forth by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has gathered information,
and conducted hearings on the relative merits of changing the
City's form of government; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interests of
the City that a Special Election be held, in which the voters
may determine whether to change the City's form of government;
and
WHEREAS, state law provides that a resolution by the
City's legislative body proposing abandonment by the City of its
current plan of government, and adoption of another plan, is an
appropriate method of placing the question before the voters.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. It is proposed that the City of Tukwila abandon its
current Mayor- Council plan of government, and adopt the Council
Manager plan of government as described in RCW Chapter 35A.13.
2. This proposal shall be voted upon at the next
general municipal election if is to be held within 180 days
of the date of this resolution or, otherwise at a special election
called for that purpose in accordance with RCW 29.13.020.

WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this 28th day of March
