HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0871 - 75th Anniversary Council Pres Doris Phelps CITY OF TUKWILA WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 871 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON RECOGNIZING, WITH PRIDE, THE SEVENTY -FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR CITY. WHEREAS, the results of an election to incorporate the Town of Tukwila were filed with the Secreatary of State on June 23, 1908. There were 61 votes to incorporate and 20 against; and WHEREAS, at that time a very forward thinking man named Joel Shomaker was elected Mayor with 59 votes; and WHEREAS, from that time on, there have been many citizens, serving in elected positions as well as volunteers on Boards and Commissions, that have influenced the growth and development of the City to the point that it is today. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: The Mayor and City Council hereby recognize, with pride, the 75th Anniversary of the City of Tukwila; and further, pay tribute to all of the citizens, both elected and volunteers, who have worked endlessly throughout the years to mold the development of our City into a community very desirable to live, as well as work, in.
