BUILDING INSPECTOR, AND PROVIDING FOR HIS APPOINTMENT AND
COMPENSATION.
WHEREAS, Public necessity and good business judgment demand that the Town of
Tukwila shall create the office of Building Inspector, and that a compe-
tent man be appointed for that office;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA:
Section 1. The Mayor shall be and he hereby isauthorized and empowered
to appoint a Building Inspector for the Town of Tukwila, to hold office
at the pleasure of the Mayor.
Section 2 The duties of said Building Inspector shall be and are to
examine the plans and specifications for any and all contemplated struc-
tures of whatsoever kind or character and determine whether or not such
contemplated building or structure is in accordance with the terms and con.
ditions of the Building Ordinance of the Town of Tukwila; and he shall
have the power and authority to'accept, reject or amend any plans and/or
specifications presented to him for approval.
Section 3. The compensation of said Building Inspector shall be such as
the Town Council shall from time to time fix and determine,
Section 4. No person, firm or corporation shall commence the construe-
tion of any building or structure within the limits of the Torn of Tukwila
without first presenting the plans and specifications for such building
or structure to the Building Inspector of the Town of Tukwila for his
approval; and any violation of this section of this Ordinance will subject
the person, firm or corporation so offending to a fine of not less than
Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00).
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after five days
from the date of its publication.
Passed the Town Council this 13th day of May 1920 and
signed by me in authentication of its passage.
