HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0903 - Appreciation for Donation of Wooden ClockCITY OF w TUKWILA WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO 903 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, THANKING MR. MRS. ROY FERRARI FOR THEIR GENEROSITY AND INTEREST IN AIDING THE CITY IN ACQUIRING A BEAUTIFUL WOODEN CLOCK FOR DISPLAY IN TUKWILA CITY HALL. WHEREAS, the Tukwila Arts Commission, in their search for appropriate art objects for the City, saw a display of woodenclocks at the Northwest Gallery of Fine Woodworking in Pioneer Square, and WHEREAS, the beautiful wooden clocks are designed and built by Roy and Teresa Ferrari, Northwest Artists, and WHEREAS, through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Ferrari the City is able to purchase one of the clocks for display in the lobby of City Hall, and WHEREAS, the particular clock selected for the City was built in 1981. It is crafted of Koa wood from Hawaii, the accent pieces are of Cocoa -Bolo wood from South America and the movable gears are made of cherry. The clock's works are operated by a pendulum with an electric drive motor to raise the weights. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: The Mayor and City Council express their thanks and gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ferrari for their generous offer, cooperation and assistance in helping the City obtain one of their beautiful hand made, wooden clocks.
