RESOLUTION NO. 912
CITY OF TUKWILA
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHING-
TON, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO AND RENEWAL OF
THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR HOUSING INSPEC-
TION SERVICES UNDER THE SECTION 312 HOUSING
REHABILITATION PROGRAM PREVIOUSLY ENTERED
INTO BETWEEN THE CITY AND KING COUNTY, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WRITTEN
AMENDMENT AND RENEWAL AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 605 of the City Council of
the City of Tukwila approved an interlocal agreement with
King County for housing inspection services under the Section
312 Housing Rehabilitation Program, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said agreement is to qualify
Tukwila homeowners of low and moderate income for low inter-
est loans to rehabilitate their homes in accordance with the
provisions of Section 312 of the Housing Act of 1964, and
WHEREAS, said agreement has expired, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has been notified by
King County, acting as agent for the Department of Housing
and Urban Development, that grant monies have recently been
allocated to King County by HUD and that in order for home-
owners in the City to be eligible, renewal and amendment of
the interlocal agreement is necessary, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila is
desirous of having low and moderate income homeowners become
qualified for low interest housing rehabilitation loans and
is therefore desirous of entering into an agreement to amend
and renew the interlocal agreement for housing inspection
services under the Section 312 Housing Rehabilitation Program
with King County, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves that
document entitled "Amendment to and Renewal of Interlocal
Agreement for Housing Inspection Services under the Section
312 Housing Rehabilitation Program" in the form attached
hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference
as if fully set forth, and the Mayor is authorized to sign
the same and enter into such amended agreement with King
County to participate in the Section 312 Housing
Rehabilitation Program.

This Amendment to and Renewal of the Interlocal Agreement for Housing Inspec-
tion Services under the Section 312 Housing Rehabilitation Program is entered
into between King County, State of Washington, hereinafter referred to as the
"County" and the City of Tukwila

WHEREAS, the Interlocal Agreement for Housing Inspection Services under the

herein referred co as the "Agreement between the "County" and the "City"
extended by its terms for a limited time period; and
WHEREAS; Section 312 Housing Rehabilitation Program funds become available
from time to time to King County from the United States Department of Housing
and Urban Development herein referred to as "HUD and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides for the mutual cooperation in the imple-
mentation of the County's Section 312 Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program
within the. corporate limits of the City with respect to building inspections
required by HUD; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and beneficial to both parties to renew and extend
the Agreement to allow King County to provide loans through the Section 312
Housing Rehabilitation Program to low and moderate income residents of the,
City and to establish a method'f or continuation of the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties do hereby extend the duration of the Agreement
pursuant to paragraph 7 therein by executing this amendment to Section, 3,
Duration of Agreement so that it reads:
"The Agreement will automatically be renewed the first day of
January of each year, unless terminated by either party pursuant to
the terms of Section 5 of the Agreement."
The parties further amend the Agreement by deleting Section 5, subparagraph b.
in its entirety.
n all other respects, the terms and conditions of the Agreement are renewed
and shall continue in effect without chanoe.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this document as of.the
day and year first above written.
