HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0914 - Proposed Delay in Metro Transit Center Site Selection AnalysisCITY OF TUKWILA WHEREAS, some confusion exists about land use assumptions being used as the base for the transit center analysis, and WHEREAS, Metro has expressed a need for greater certainty that projected development and planned improvements will actually occur, and WHEREAS, little certainty from projections and planning is expected in the next year, and WHEREAS, a special task force was created in November, 1983, and has expended considerable resources to date. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section I. The schedule for analyzing transit center sites and making a recommendation on the selection of the Tukwila Transit Center be slowed down as opposed to delayed completely for one year. Metro and its consultants will continue to provide the Task Force with information in greater detail for sites selected for further analysis per the original scope of work. Tukwila and its consultants will continue to provide the Task Force with any information which may affect sites selected for further analysis. Section II. Greater certainty for planned public improve- ments needed by Metro for the site selection of the Tukwila Transit Center will be reviewed by the City upon request and can be provided, if appropriate, by the City to Metro through written agreement.
