AN ORDINANCE. No. 80
REPEALED BY 81
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Town of
It being deemed advisable that the Town of Tukwila,
shall cre at,r an indebtedness by the issue of its negotiable
bonds in the amount of Sven. Thousand Dollars (7,OOO.00)
due in t r (12) y-.ars from the date thereof and b a inm
interest at the rate of six der cent(:`) per annum, for
strictly municipal purposes; eTIA such m.ney to be borrowed
on the credit of such cor oration. by the issuance of such
negotiable bonds;
Now then, it is hereby ORDAINED, that an election of
the qualified electors of such Town or City of Tukwila shall
be held for the _:ur pose of authorizing or _re:jecting, cregt—
ing or refusing to create, such indebtedness;, which election
shall be held on Saturday, the 5th day of April, A. D.1919;
the polls being open for voting at said_ election from
9 o'clock in the morning and continuing until 7 o'clock in
the afternoon of said day.
It is furthe ORDAINED that the general ux' 0,3e of
the i e suing of such bonds and the 1106 of the proceeds thereof
is to be the improvement of the streets of the City of
Tukwila in whole or in part by grading or regrading, planking
or _e planking, paving; or repaving, macadamizing or remadad€. ii2
ing, graveling or regraveling, piling or repiling, or
otherwise improving the same, and to construct sidewalks,
drains, sewers and sewer appurtenances, culverts, bulkheads,
retaining wails, water rn.:,ins or ap )urtenances, curbings, crosE
walks, dikes, embankments, bridges, tr.Dstles and appurtenance
thereto, and such other improvements necessary to be
constructed, reconstructed, repaired or renewed, for the
purpose of making general street improvements in said City
pf Tukwila, but for no other purposes than strictly
municipal purposes.
It is further ORDAINED that if eaid bonds shall
be authorized/ to be issued by the Co::.ncil of the City of
Tukwila, they shall be sold either at private ,le or on
Healed bids, for not lees than park and that the said council
shall be authorized to advertise the sale of the same; the
total expense of the posting of this Ordinance, the adver-
tising of it and of the sale of said bonds not to exceed the
sum of Five Hundred ($500) Dollars.
It is further ORDAINED that this Ordinance and the
Notice of such Election, of which this Ordinance shall be
considered sufficient notice, shall be published in the
Seattle Daily Star, a daily publication of greatest circula-
tion in the Town of Tukwila for the period of fifteen (15)
days daily, proceeding ding the 5th day of April, A.D. 1919,
And three (3) copies thereof shall be posted by the Clerk
of the Town of Tukwila in three most conspicuous places
in said town.
