RESOLUTION NO 931
A RESOLUTION BETWEEN THE CITY OF TUKWILA AND THE
SOUTH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT TO JOIN THE TWO
ORGANIZATIONS TOGETHER IN A JOINT RESOLUTION OF
COOPERATION.
WHEREAS, it is a goal of the School District and City to work
cooperatively with one another, and
WHEREAS, public tax funds help to support and operate each organiza-
tion; it is prudent for the two bodies to work together to reduce capital and
operational costs through sharing of facilities and other approved services,
and
WHEREAS, the educational, social and recreational activities of all
local citizens are of high importance to both the School District and the
City, and
WHEREAS, it is important and worthwhile to document, for future
generations, this joint government cooperation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AND THE SOUTH CENTRAL SCHOOL BOARD DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The South Central School Board and Tukwila City Council authorize the
Superintendent of the South Central School District and the Mayor of Tukwila
to follow the goals listed below as they administer their respective organiza-
tions.
A. The Superintendent, Mayor, and elected officials shall meet
periodically to discuss plans, concerns, and other items of importance.
B. Facilities shall be shared whenever possible giving a high
priority to the other organization's needs.
C. Reduction of costs through joint action shall be explored and,
when appropriate, proposed for consideration by the School Board and City
Council.
D. Whenever reasonably possible each organization shall assist the
other with the providing of social and recreation programs which will benefit
Tukwila and South Central School District residents.
