RESOLUTION NO 934 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, EXPRESSING THE INTENTION TO
RESEARCH FACTORS RELATED TO POSSIBLE ANNEXATION OF
TERRITORY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF KING COUNTY FIRE
DISTRICT NO. 1.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by approximately 166 residents of the
territory within the boundaries of King County Fire District No. 1 seeking
annexation to the City of Tukwila has been received by the City, and
WHEREAS, the growth and development of the Fire District 1 area
directly impacts the City of Tukwila and the upper Duwamish Valley, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the City of Tukwila may be able to provide
services required by the proposed annexation area.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The petition requesting annexation of the territory
within King County Fire District No. 1 to the City of Tukwila shall be con-
sidered with respect to the City's ability to provide needed services to the
area, the benefits to the City and to residents of the Fire District 1 area
which are likely to result from annexation to the City of Tukwila and all
other factors which are relevant to an informed decision on the proposed
annexation.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby requested to direct the City's
planning staff, in cooperation with other City departments, to analyze the
proposed annexation and to provide a report and recommendation to the City
Council.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 'TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this day of_ 1984.
