RESOLUTION NO. 944 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA ESTABLISHING A
SYSTEM OF FORMAL MOTIONS TO RECORD ACTIONS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has Ordinances and Resolutions to record
actions of the City Council of a long range nature, and
WHEREAS, motions of the,City Council, while binding, are only recorded
in the minutes of the meetings of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, Some of these motions enact policy and actions which need
follow up.
THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tukwila do hereby resolve
that:
Section 1. A system to record certain motions of the City Council is
established.
Section 2. Motions which establish policy, require special action by
parties or establish restrictions, are designated Formal Motions.
Formal Motions are assigned numbers, the first two digits which are
the last two digits of the current year followed by a number which represents
the order of enactment.
Formal Motions are to be copied on a form which shows the number date
of enactment, voting record, and short title. The form is to be signed by the
Council President.
A log of Formal Motions is to be maintained which shows the number,
short title and disposition of all motions passed.
Section 3. This resolution is retro active to the first meeting of
January 1985
Section 4. As time permits, the system is to be applied to motions of
1984
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting therof this day of 1985.
