HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0961 - Interlocal Agreement - Metro Effluent Transfer System (ETS) TUK WIL4 WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 961 6/7/85 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, APPROVING AN INTERAGENCY AGREE- MENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TUKWILA AND THE MUNICIPA- LITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE FOR THE ETS CONSTRUC- TION AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN SUCH AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) is mandated by the Washington State Department of Ecology to eliminate the discharge of sewage effluent into the Duwamish River from Metro's Renton treatment plant by July 1, 1986, and WHEREAS, Metro plans to construct an effluent transfer system (ETS) in order to fulfill the Department of Ecology's mandate along an alignment which will require construction within the corporate boundaries of the City, and WHEREAS, the City and Metro have agreed that the most appropriate alignment for the ETS through the City of Tukwila is the route commonly known as the "golf course route" and WHEREAS, the City and Metro have negotiated an interagency agreement which provides for the construction of the ETS project along the golf course route in the City of Tukwila upon certain terms and conditions NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS Section 1 Approval of Interagency Agreement and Authorization for Signature The laity Louncil hereby approves that certain agreement entitled "Memorandum of Agreement Between the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle and the City of Tukwila Regarding Effluent Transfer System Construction The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute such agreement on behalf of the City at such time as the Shoreline Permit is completed and approved PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this 17th day of June 1985 Filed with the City Clerk Passed by the City Council Edgar D.
