RESOLUTION NO. 976
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO APPLY TO
THE KING COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT OFFICE TO UTILIZE 1986 POPULATION FUNDS
FOR THE UPPER FOSTER PLAYFIELD PROJECT, TO APPLY
TO USE ANY UNCOMMITTED 1983, 1984, AND 1985
POPULATION FUNDS TO THIS SAME PROJECT, AND TO
APPLY FOR $20,000 IN 1986 NEEDS FUNDS FOR THIS
SAME PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on September 23, 1985
to consider potential projects using approximately $15,778 in 1986 Community
Development Block Grant funds, and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined the development of the Upper
Foster Park Youth Athletic Field Project is the most desired, qualified CDBG
project, and
WHEREAS, a portion of the 1983, 1984, and 1985 CDBG Population funds
may remain unspent at the completion of currently approved projects and it is
desirable to recommit these funds to a 1986 project, and
WHEREAS, it is desirable for the City to apply for 1986 CDBG Needs
funds for a qualified project.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to apply to the CDBG office for
approval to use the City's 1986 Population funds of approximately $15,778 for
the Upper Foster Playfield Project.
Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to request the CDBG office to
assign any unspent 1983, 1984, and 1985 Population funds to the Upper Foster
Playfield Project after the currently approved projects have been completed
and the funds are no longer needed for the specified projects.
Section 3. The Mayor is authorized to apply to the CDBG office for
$20,000 in 1986 Needs funds for the construction of the Upper Foster Playfield
Project.
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this `7 day of 1985.
