HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0075 - Public Hearing on Assessment Roll for Sidewalks on Tukwila AvenueOrdinance No 75 An ordinance approving the assessment roll for the construction of a sidewalk en the south side of Tukvila Avenue from Main Street to Warren Atvenue in the Town of Tukwila and declaring the amounts assessed against the several lots in such improvement district a lien thereon Whereas under and by virture of Resolution No 10 passed by the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila under date of August 13, 1918, the construction at the expense of the abutting property of sidewalks aiong the south side of Tukwila Avenue from Main Street to Warren Avenue in the Town of Tukwila was duly ordered and such order approved by the Mayor and Whereas said sidewalk was thereafter duly constructed in part by the Town of Tukwila and in part by the owner of the abutting lot and Whereas under date of October 8, 1918 an assessment roll was duly prepared and filed with the Council of the Town of Tukwila by the Superintendent of Streets setting forth the lots by their proper description with the names of the owners thereof and the proportionate amounts to be assessed against the several lots in said improvement district and Whereas by the appropriate resolution the Council set the 12th day of November 1918 as the date for the hearing upon said assessment roll and caused due notice of such hearing to be published in manner and form according to law and Whereas subsequent to the giving of such notice payment in full has been made of the amounts proposed to be assessed against several of the lots the construction of the sidewalk aforesaid in one case having been made by the owner of the abutting property so that there remains to be paid on said improvement only one amount against the lot hereinafter set forth and Whereas on due hearing had on November 12 , 1918 the said assessment roll was duly approved as to the lot in said improvement district in the amount due thereon; Now therefore be it ordained by the Council of the Town of Tukwila: SECTION ONE I. That the assessment roll prepared by the Superintendent of Streets of the Town of Tukwila for the sidewalk along the south side of Tukwila Avenue between Main Street and Warren Avenue in the Town of Tukwila and filed with the Town Clark under date of October 8, 1918, be and the same hereby is approved for and in the sum set opposite the lot below described. Description. Owner. Amount. Lot No. 14, Block No. 11. Hillman's Seattle Garden Tracts. 198 lineal feet. K. E. Clark. 4135.GU SECTION TWO. That the above specified amount shall at once become a lien upon the above described lot to the extent of said assessment, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent. per annum from the date of this ordinance, and shall be certified to the County Treasurer of King County, Mash, for collection accord- ing to law. SECTION THREE. This ordinance shall take effect within five (5) days after its passage and approval by the aayor.
