HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0983 - Storm Water Run-Off ManagementCITY OF TUKWILA WHEREAS, the purpose of the 1972 Clean Water Act is to clean up the waters of the United States effectively, efficiently, and in a manner which addresses the highest priority control needs first, and WHEREAS, the scope of "intermittent storm water discharges" from municipal storm water systems has not yet been studied or defined by EPA so that a reasonable and cost effective system of permits and /or regulations could be established, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS Section 1 The current Congressional revision of the Clean Water Act should include a five -year moratorium on permit requirements for separate municipal storm sewers During those five years, EPA should be required to accomplish a definitive study to determine and devise a logical, cost effective set of regulations for storm water run -off management in urban areas, based upon the perceived /actual amount of pollution carried, before permits can be required for municipal storm water systems RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this 21st day of October 1985 ATTEST /AUTHENTICATED CITY CC E AXINE ANDERSON APPROVED AS TO FORM OFFICE IF THE CITY WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO 983 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, CONCERNING STORM WATER RUN -OFF MANAGEMENT IN URBAN AREAS FILED WITH THE CI C PASSED BY THE CITY CO FIRST PUBLICATION SECOND PUBLICATION: RESOLUTION NO 983 CIL RNEY CITY OF TUKWILA By COUNCIL PRESIDENT, EDGAR D BAUCH .2/ Fs .2/ P5
