RESOLUTION NO. 991A
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
URGING KING COUNTY TO IMPLEMENT INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS
ON COMPREHENSIVE PLANS
WHEREAS, the Suburban Cities Association of King County (SCA) has an
ongoing interest in the intergovernmental components of the King County
Comprehensive Plan as it relates to land use, service delivery, development
standards, capital improvement programs and annexation, and
WHEREAS, the SCA has, over the past two years, passed a number of
resolutions relative to these matters expressing the collective viewpoint and
interest of suburban general purpose local governments, and
WHEREAS, these resolutions have heretofore been received and acted
upon by the King County Executive and King County Council in the constructive
and cooperative spirit in which they have been given, and
WHEREAS, King County has authorized as part of its 1986 work program
the implementation of the comprehensive Plan including the development of
interlocal agreements with suburban cities, and
WHEREAS, the Suburban Planning Directors, meeting as a technical sup-
port staff to the SCA, nave made substantial progress in this regard and
recommends continued intergovernmental efforts to implement the aforementioned
policies
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 The Suburban Cities Association of King County (SCA)
calls upon the King County Executive and King County Council to continue their
efforts to implement the King County Comprehensive Plan and to direct County
staff to continue to work cooperatively with the Suburban Planning Directors
in the identification of effective methods to implement the Plan
Section 2 The Suburban Cities Association of King County calls upon
and urges the Suburban Mayors and managers to direct their respective Suburban
Planning Directors to continue their efforts in this regard and to keep their
individual elected officials, as well as the SCA as an organization, apprised
of their progress
Section 3 Copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to all
member jurisdictions of the SCA as well as the office of the King County
Executive and the King County Council
PASSED BY THE CITY CUUNCIic OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this 3rd day of February 1986
